BIO

I was taught to draw at an early age by my father, who was self taught and encouraged me to participate in art competitions as often as possible. He (Milton Lee Farley Jr.) was an artist in museum quality scale models from scratch.
Sometime before I was ten years old, I won top prize in a statewide drawing competition for my age group that was sponsored by a local television station and the "Jon Gnagy Learn to Draw" show. That prize was Gnagy's deluxe instruction kit which included a variety of materials and accompaning books.
In High School, I was assistant to the Art Director and won a weekend workshop scholarship to Herron Institute of Art, studying figure drawing (on Saturdays).
Spent several years doing technical drawing for Engineering companies. Gained experience in report graphics and visual aids.
Served as house designer and builder for a special events group for a couple of years in the eighties which led to several more years of free lance work. Various projects include stage and party designs, floats for 500 Festival Parades and Night Club makeovers.
Later entering into local arts, where I did a series of one-man shows and participated in several group shows.
I've done sculpture for public display, faux painted interiors (commercial and private), designed hundreds of T-shirts for screen printing and many special event displays including props for televised events.
